KBThe present Village Hall was opened in January 1981 by local landowner, Col. Clerke Brown, whose family had donated the original hall (now a private house on the corner of the High Street & Pleck Lane). This hall became too small to accommodate the needs of the expanding village and a combination of grants, fundraising and donations made possible the building of a replacement.
Many improvements have been made to the Hall since it was built and with its location on the edge of the village and spacious car park, it is a popular venue for parties and events, as well as being used for regular groups and classes (including a Montessori pre-school).
VHThe Playing Field was purchased from the Clerke Browns prior to the construction of the Hall and the children’s playground was added later. Pleck Wood, an area of natural woodland was established in 2000 as a Millennium project.
Kingston Blount Village Hall is managed on behalf of Aston Rowant Parish Council by the Hillwerke Recreational Trust (Registered Charity No. 279656).
